PBX is short for Private Branch Exchange and refers to the system (usually hardware) installed at a business premises that allows a business to connect a single or multiple phone lines to multiple endpoints also known as extensions. PBX systems also add rich functionality and enhances customer experience with various addon functionalities. PABX is the analog predecessor of modern IP PBX systems.
Who will benefit from an onsite PBX appliance
An onsite PBX appliance may be a good idea if your team needs the ability to phone each other even if the main internet connection is offline. Clients in hospitality may also benefit from an onsite PBX appliance since guests will want to contact the amenities by phone. This will not be possible with a hosted or virtual PBX when all internet connectivity becomes unavailable.

With an outright purchase you are the owner of the equipment and will need to purchase new hardware when it becomes outdated. An outright purchase is attributed as a capital expense and is taxed accordingly.
A financial lease is a convenient way to get the infrastructure you need at easy-to-pay monthly recurring fee and not have to worry about ownership. You will receive a tax benefit at the same time as it is attributed as an operational expense. Leasing your onsite PBX appliance means you will have the option to upgrade to the latest technology in a few years without having to outlay capital to do so.
Installation times depend on the size and complexity of the system, availability of our technical teams and whether we need to install new cabling or not.
While a physical installation can take a couple of days, the whole process may take 2-3 weeks for an average size system.
Yes, we can reuse the analog telephones by simply installing an analog gateway device.
We do not typacally grand administrative access to clients unless they have experience working with telephone systems. This is merely a precaution to prevent misconfigurations that will lead to a system malfunction or unintended behaviour.
You will be able to see call statistics. However, in order to track spend per extension/user you will need an addon product such as MAN3000. Luckily we can help you with that.
A Grandstream onsite PBX appliance has no additional license fees. It ships with all functionality available to you and new and improved features will become available as software updates become available.
